Here's our plan for our last few days in the States:
Saturday: We said a teary good-bye to my parents and our dogs (they will join us in early January) and hoped on a plane to Chicago. We went to church with Alex's parents and then went out to a nice restaurant to celebrate both of our birthdays and my mother-in-law's upcoming birthday. We came home and celebrated with presents.
Sunday: My mother-in-law had to meet up with her auntie and siblings in downtown Chicago today, so it's just the two of us and my father-in-law at home. I'll be honest, it's nice to be lounging around! I've been busy working on some new clip art (hopefully uploading later today!) and a new font! We will have dinner with Alex's parents, sister and grandma later tonight.
Monday: We will get up early and head into the city to go to the consulate. We will pick our passports, visas, and a small mountain of paperwork. We then should be ready to go on the paperwork side of things!
Tuesday: We leave from Chicago O'Hare at 5:30pm! Up until then, we will be finishing packing our bags and delicately balancing the weight in each of them (we do, after all, have to live out of them for a few days!).
Wednesday: We will arrive for a short lay-over in Paris and then catch a flight with a couple other teachers to Genoa! Woohoo!
We have been working on this move for so long (8 months to be exact!) and there were times that it felt like it wouldn't be here. It's amazing to think that we are almost to Italy!!! To celebrate, I've created another new font. It's a doodle font that is, well, quite doodley! I don't promise that it's perfect, but it is fun for titles! Once again, free for personal AND commercial use! :)
