This post is for those of you who love fun fonts, too, but aren't sure how to go about getting them and actually putting them on your computer to use. Well, relax! It's incredibly simple!
First up, SOURCES!
There are so many places to track down fonts online! dafont and Font Squirrel are two of the larger databases. I also love Kevin & Amanda's free handwriting and scrapbooking fonts. However, they can seem a bit... overwhelming! Particularly if you are on a quest for the *perfect* font.
I usually start by looking through Pinterest boards for what I want. Another GREAT starting point is WordMark.it. This website is ah-mazing! All you do is go to the page, type in the text that you want to see and it loads ALL of the fonts that you have on your computer for you to see. It seriously has saved me hours of changing the fonts on documents to find the perfect font combination. They even have filters for when you have narrowed your fonts down to a couple. I totally recommend it!
Ok, so now that you've found the perfect font that you just need, you must get it on your computer. But how? It's easier than you think!
STEP ONE. Click the download link/button.
STEP TWO. Once it has downloaded, open up the .zip file.
STEP THREE. Click on "Install Font."
STEP FOUR. Do a happy dance because Y-O-U just got yourself a brand new font!
*If you have a program open at the time that you want to use the font for, you must close the program and then reopen it for your font to appear in the font selection. If you don't want to close and re-open it, you can always type the font into the font selector... just make sure to spell everything correctly!
And now a gift for you! Use this link to download a font I have created. Feel free to use in personal and commercial work. If you do end up making a profit on what you make, I ask that you credit me and link back to my blog and TPT store.
